Haitian Proverb November 30th

“Kreyon Bondye pa gen gom.”

Translation: “God’s pencil has no eraser.  Meaning, God does not change his mind.”

Haitian Proverb Week 48, Heart of God Haiti

As I prepare to go home for a few weeks I am of course beginning to worry about all the possible catastrophes that could occur in my absence. Someone could get sick. Something important could break. We could run out of water. Any number of things could happen. I am trying to remember this proverb as I silently worry. God made up his mind to love and protect these kids long before I came on the scene. He kept them safe during times of little food, during hurricanes, during illnesses. These are His children and He has already drawn out a plan for each and every one of them.  Even though I might not be around, He will be here.

Will I continue worrying this week and the next few weeks while I am gone? Of course. Worry is one human trait that is nearly impossible for me to overcome. But I will make a point to pray every time a worry creeps into my head. And I please ask that you pray for the health and safety for our kids and staff as well during my absence. I will miss them so much:)
