“Labou bouche kouran.”
Translation: Mud clogs the flow. Meaning, a little hang up can stop an entire project.
In just 3 short weeks, a team of 7 people will venture to Haiti to work with the teachers and students at Godet Community School. For the teachers, a 2 day conference will take place. The students will participate in a short VBS. Each student will receive a school kit with pencils and erasers and various supplies for next school year. The teachers will hopefully be receptive to some unfamiliar teaching techniques and ideas for their classrooms. One day we will have a band perform worship music for all the village of Godet to hear and enjoy. We will be purchasing and installing some metal playground equipment at the school as well at some point during the trip. We will be brightening up the school with some decorative painting throughout the classrooms.
As you can see, we will have a lot to do in a short amount of time. And unfortunately all it will take is a little mud to stop any of these projects from blessing the people of Godet. As the team prepares for the trip, gathering supplies, preparing VBS materials, making copies of handouts for teachers, doing their best to make sure each of their suitcases is under 50 pounds (not as easy as it sounds), I ask that you pray for the plans we have laid out before us for the June mission trip. Please pray that all the preparations to leaving the states happen without hindrance, pray that all the luggage arrives in Haiti without damage, pray that I am able to lay all the groundwork here before the team arrives so that projects can run smoothly, and pray for the members of the team to be blessed with good health and an eager spirit and that God will use them for His glory during their time in Haiti. Thank you and be sure to look for lots of pictures on our Facebook page once the team does get here. 🙂
