“Sa je pa wè, pa fè kè tounen.”
Translation: “What the eyes don’t see doesn’t sour the heart.”
What a beautiful way of reminding us that we must be careful about what we focus our attention on. Jesus Himself tells us,
“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! (Matthew 6:22-23)
In a world full of visual stimulation – facebook, TV, billboards, etc. – we are bombarded with opportunities to look on things that will “sour our hearts.” We must set up our guard so that nothing gets in that brings darkness.
