Haitian Proverb February 11th

Tout moun konnen kouto pa janm grate manch pa li.

Everybody knows that a knife never scrapes its own handle. meaning, You must have help for some things.
In my month or so of living at the orphanage I have discovered that I really should have learned a few things before I decided to come down here, like nursing, mechanics, gardening, goat herding, construction, etc. If I had even a remote level of understanding in any of these areas so many of the problems I have faced could have easily been resolved. But I am a teacher and that’s about it. Luckily God knows my shortcomings and has put people in my new Haitian life to help me along the way. He knows I am not a nurse but made sure I was introduced to one. I know nothing about cisterns but God brought FOHO to my front door, sort to speak. You can’t do it all. But God can and if you rely on him the things you need help with will happen.
